Creating A VPN in Kali Linux

i want to use OpenVPN in my kali linux.for that i installed openvpn through apt-get and other dependancy files too.

then i downloaded .ovpn files and try to configure it using.

 

#openvpn --config vpnbook-de223-tcp432.ovpn

 

it is supposed to run and ask for authentication but instead it showing error

 

# Options error: In [CMD-LINE]:1:Eror opening configuration file:

 

so why is showing this error?

Which configuration file is openvpn trying to open? using which command/script? what happens if you run

openvpn --config </full/path/to/config/file>

 

and also try giving --config parameter at the end

is it in a virtual machine?(thats my best guess)

have you tries any other command before for that .usually just try to restart the system first then run the command

 

openvpn --config <the name of the file you downloaded from vpnbook.com >
