Reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium on a friends homebuilt system. Running an AMD FX 4100 and 16 Gig of RAM.

All has gone well except the device manager shows a Universal Serial Bus Controller under Other Devices that isn't installed.

I have searched for drivers using the utility in Device Manager. Windows update show a failed update (over and over again).

I have downloaded the chip-set driver from Gigabyte and it still does not install.

Im not sure how to proceed, the automatic detection tool at Gigabyte doesn't load for some reason.

Thanks for any insight

Possibly USB 3.0. Right click the device in Device Manager, select Properties, and under the Details tab select Hardware IDs in the dropdown box. Copy and paste the first line into your next post.

That is your USB 3.0 ports, the ones that are blue. Manufacturer is Etron.
