Hi ho. o/ So last time I got a virus that redirected Google to some iwatchavi.com site. This time I got malware that threw stupid game icons all over my desktop, tried to fiddle with the default font, etc. so first thing I did was shut down my computer (Dell XPS 15 running Windows 10). THIS time it's redirecting to "Yahoo" (except it's not Yahoo because there's a sling of nonsense after it, i.e. https://us.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?hspart=blp&hsimp=yhs-default&type=hmp_4957_719_0&p=not+yahoo&rnd=999062036&param1=sid%3D719%3Aaid%3D4957%3Aver%3D0%3Atm%3D-1%3Asrc%3Dhmp%3Alng%3Den%3Aitype%3De%3Auip%3D1286127983%3Aup%3Dbm90IHlhaG9v ). Every so often it will try to redirect a loading page to scare tactic pages (browser-security.site) or downright dangerous ones (pipeschannels.com). Fortunately most of the scans I did before were able to clear out and uninstall all the malware/spamware.

I've run Malwarebytes, Zemana, tried to run Adwcleaner but every time I hit "clean" (whether in Debug mode or not) it'd crash so hard my computer would bluescreen. Right now I've got ESET Online Scanner running and it's picked up a number of threats. I still could use some help though, just to make sure I'm doing everything right.

Well, I did everything you wrote, I also removed all other search engines in the settings, but when I went to look up something it redirected to Yahoo again. :S Maybe there's a piece of adware still left in my computer somewhere?

Sorry to double post, but I told my dad about my situation, and he sent me a free trial of Kaspersky Total Security. As soon as it finished its full first scan, it found 2 files in my C drive, WebBrowserPassView.exe and another similarly-named file. I deleted them both; hopefully those were the root of the problem.

EDIT: Just reinstalled Google Chrome, did a simple search, and it still redirected to "Yahoo".

Run the Farbar program and post fresh FRST and Addition.txt logs.

To recreate an Addition.txt log please make sure that the box to create an addition.txt is marked.

Hi,

Nothing about Yahoo! found in your logs.

If you sync Google did you follow the instructions I previously gave you?
