Going to be buying a GPU backplate soon to cover up the ugly pcb. I don't really have any experience with them. Was going to go with either Realm Gaming Computers or V1 Tech customs. There was also this other guy that sells through Facebook but forgot his name. Was going to get a custom made one does anyone know of any other places that sell these and does anyone know if the backplates will hurt the GPU in anyway? I don't want it hurting my expensive GPU.

You are best to leave a backplate in place unless experiencing problems.

Removal of backplate will require replacement of heat sink transfer material via paste or pad.

Unless you have done this before or experiencing problems I would leave a working GPU or CPU alone.

This is only my opinion.

@The-Toolman #2

I think the OP wants to add one not remove one.

It's your computer, it's your money. Personally I have no objection to looking at a well designed and fabricated PCB, but then I am prejudiced. I have from time to time designed and made them. Try googling for 'GPU backplates, custom'

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !

Yep you are right.

When people mention backplate I think of a functional real part that supports the heatsink not some non-functional dress up part.

Forgot to mention it is more of an aesthetic than functional backplate.
