It's probably not a big thing with most folks, but it is so annoying :ranting: to sign on Chrome expecting to see a Home page with search block and find that the sign in screen for Amazon loads first. ALWAYS. I have written both Google and Amazon support and nobody answers me. Of course!!!! What else could I expect??? I don't mind Amazon but not as a home page to a search engine.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks

That may be malware...an attempt to get your password at amazon.

Hello, everyone. I went to Google and wandered around in the website from one place to another to change settings but wasn't really successful. I didn't see any that I needed to change. Where Apps are listed for permission, Amazon wasn't there.

It is still showing and I cannot find where I can delete Amazon from the startup. While I do buy from Amazon fairly frequently, I resent it always coming up first before I can even access the internet.

I appreciate your help in fixing it.

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the

Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.

After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.

CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Post the three lists mentioned below using CCleaner.

Open CCleaner and click on Tools. Choose Startups. On that page you will see a list of Windows Startups and at the top tabs for each browser and Scheduled Tasks.

At the bottom right of that page you will see a button when clicked will allow you to Copy and Paste the list of Windows Startups and Scheduled Tasks into your next

post. Please do that.

Open CCleaner and click on Tools. Choose Uninstall. On that page you will see a list of programs installed on your computer and at the bottom right of that page you

will see a button when clicked will allow you to Copy and Paste that list in your next post. Please do that.

Check the list of startups in Google Chrome browser using CCleaner. It may or may not show them. But if there is a tab for Chrome when you choose Startups click on it

and see if does list them. Post the results.

EDIT: You can try these instructions first:

Check in your list of installed programs for Amazon Assistant and uninstall if in the list.

Removing Amazon Web Search as your home page:

  1. Click the Chrome menu and select Settings
  2. Under On startup, click Disable extension

Changing your default search engine:

  1. Click the Chrome menu and select Settings
  2. Under Search, click Disable extension

In addition, you can delete Web Search by clicking the x next to the Amazon Web Search listing to remove Amazon Web Search

Are you saying the Google instructions in post #2 didn't work?
