I have this recent problem when installing my printer's driver. I'm always stuck on this part "PRINTER CONNECTION UNSUCCESSFUL. THE PRINTER WAS NOT ABLE TO CONNECT SUCCESSFULLY OVER THE USB CABLE. PLEASE CHECK THE USB CABLE CONNECTION AND THEN CLICK RETRY TO TRY AGAIN". I actually plug the usb cable to another usb port but still the same error comes up. Can someone help me please.

What operating system are you using?

What make and model of printer?

Printer driver version and date?

Is the printer shared on a network, or just attached to your system?

I'm using windows 8 and i have an HP officejet 7110 printer. It is just attached to my system.

I actually uninstalled my HP printer because my printer cannot print an excel document so when I install it again the "PRINTER CONNECTION UNSUCCESSFUL....."error message pops up.

Have you tried using a different cable?? (cables do sometimes go faulty even when not disturbed)

yes I've tried. But I think the cable is not the problem because when I install it to another computer the printer installs perfectly without error.

Did you run the .exe file you downloaded to install the drivers?

So what happens when you go into Devices and Printers and try to add the printer?

So this is the thing that i did. So I lost my hope in installing the printer via USB cable so I tried installing it through the network because there are 3 ways in installing the printer through the USB, NETWORK AND WIFI so i chose the other way, installing my printer via network. So when I install the printer via network the printer does not detect the Ethernet cable so i tried the other method so i went to Devices and Printers then chose add a printer.  My printer was on the list then I added it then chose the model of my printer after that this error message pops up. "UNABLE TO  INSTALL PRINTER. CANNOT COMPLETE THIS FUNCTION".

In a Run box, type services.msc followed by pressing Enter.

Go down the list of services until you find Print Spooler

Make sure it is running, and set to Automatic for Startup Type.

my Printer Spooler is running and set to automatic. I've been thinking lately, I guess my problem involves in Registry Security because other computers can install the printer but only this printer can't.

I would suggest contacting HP support.
