Greetings. Would like directions and recommendations on how and what program - hopefully free or open source - to use to create a backup of an entire computer including the files, program and Windows XP operating system, so in the future should there be the need for a restore, they are not searching for individual programs or operating system information. Yes, I know XP is no longer supported. Thank you.

Backup to a USB external drive using any of the free programs. Easeus and Aomei also allow for a separate file/folder backup along with a complete disk image. All let you create a bootable USB flash drive or CD in order to restore the image form the USB external should the computer no longer boot.

Macrium Reflect Free

Aomei Backupper Standard

Easeus Todo Backup Free
