Windows computer seemingly missing many essential files?

Hello! I am not quite sure I know what is happening to my computer, but there seem to be many Windows files missing. I believe that most of the working ones are in system32 while the ones that don't seem to be working are in other system directories.Thanks!

Type cmd.exe in the search box, and right click on the result, selecting Run as administrator.

Type sfc /SCANNOW and press Enter.
