Uninstalled TotalAV because I wasn't sure whether it was trustworthy and wasn't actually free but the total av web shield extension still installs itself on chrome, even if I remove it, it installs on a new person, when I looked on the support site for the extension it said it's an unsafe site, I scanned with avg and adwcleaner and it shows nothing and tried uninstalling/reinstalling Chrome but the extension installs itself again, does anyone know what the source of the extension installing itself would be and if it's malicious?

I checked the Total AV URL on VirusTotal and it comes up clean...

You should be able to uninstall it from Chrome extensions -
