Hi, this is my first post here.

I'm running Windows XP Home and have a gig of ram, with not a lot on the taskbar, but my computer's running really hot and slow lately. Task manager shows me running 6 svchost.exe's and one of them's taking 68mbs of ram (seems to be increasing every day). I have AVG on my computer, and have run all of the scans that this Bleeping Computer recommends before posting here, but nothing has fixed the problem. I thought maybe I had win32.hidrag (same as win32.jeefo), but it doesn't appear to be that. Also, doesn't seem to be the w32.welchia worm. If anyone has any thoughts, I would be very thankful! Here's my HijackThis log as well as my task manager stuff. Thanks!

Hi ,

Our apologies for the delay. If you still require help, please post a new fresh log so I can see if anything has changed.

I don't see much in your log but will have some questions for you and some things to check out. Along with a log I would also like to see a list of installed programs.

Open HijackThis.

If you still have the New Users Quickstart screen enabled, click Open Misc Tools Section.
If you just have the regular opening screen, click the Config... button then the Misc Tools button.

Now click the Open Uninstall Manager button, then the Save List button. Save the list somewhere convenient like My Documents and then the list will open in Notepad. Copy and Paste that list into your next reply to this post.

BTW, showing the tasks isn't necessary since most of what I need to see will show up in the Running Processes portion of HijackThis.

The fate of all mankind, I see

Is in the hands of fools
