Hi! Im Rodrigo from Argentina and this is my first post, so i hope im doing things right.

Im having troubles with a infected file i installed a few days ago and im not being able to remove the infection. Basically, something keeps adding a link in my Firefox shortcut (pic 1), and also some windows setting are being automaticaly disabled (like file asocciations and file explorer view settings).

The redirect is to www.yeadesktop.com and even if i delete it from the shortcut, it keeps appearing there. Just after i installed the infected file, I deleted the programs installed that day (like one called 1.0.0.1), deleted all the registry values i found with those names and tried these programs:

  • Bitdefender
  • Malwarebytes
  • Hitman
  • AdwCleaner
  • Adaware
  • CCleaner
  • TDSSKiler
  • Spyware Terminator
  • Spybot S&D

After cleaning a few infections, one thing got my attention: bitdefender keeps detecting infected files in windows/temp folder (as you can see in pic 3), where files named tempXXXXXXXX keeps spamming, particulary in the “bf0e8a9c…” folder. The remaining folders have a single file called “tmp00000000”, which I can’t delete.

Also, i unistalled and deleted all firefox folders, and reinstalled it with no luck... there's no extensions, rare program listed in "add or remove programs" nor in windows startup. So after all that, im asking for help!

PD: I can't post the FRST log here because i get a timeout everytime i tried, so i had to attach it. Also im attaching a Hijathis log. Thanks a lot.

Hi Nasdaq!

It seems to be working perfectly now, no more redirects and windows settings are not changing anymore!

Im uploading the files you asked, but can i ask you which file/program was causing this? because as you can see in the "AdwCleaner[C0]" from 17/06, it has disinfected the firefox shortcut before and didn't work.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Rodrigo
