I recently took advantage of a freebie offered by the above of 100GB backup allowance.
This service I understand uses Amazon Glacier servers and as the name implies, does not move quickly!
It took 75Hrs to upload 63GB.
One problem I may have in the event that I need to restore anything is that I have no idea how to access the stored files and I certainly don't want to trigger a download by mistake!
Aside from that rather fundamental need, I really don't wish to have this utility taking up valuable memory by running in the background.
To this end, I have "Stopped the Zoolz service and changed the "Startup type" from Auto to "Manual" following these instructions:-
To enable or disable a service for a hardware profile
In the details pane, right-click the service that you want to enable or disable, and then click Properties.
I noticed in "properties" that the "General" Tab shows a dropdown menu for startup type which was set to automatic and I changed this to "Manual".
Zoolz complained that it would still be running but wouldn't show a GUI.
This indeed seems to be the case, ...ratz!
Anybody know how I can house train this beast so that I can completely stop it and start it up if and when I want it's services??
