My Indexing never seems to stop, except when it says "Indexing speed is reduced due to user activity".

I never noticed this being normal before? What do you think?

Many of us don't even use the indexing feature of Windows.

You might look through Indexing Never Stops.

Agreed. Any time I set up a new system one of the first things I do is disable all indexing as well as the Windows Search Service. BTW - instead of Windows Search I use "Search Everything". It's free and it's great.

Thank you very much for your replies gentlemen. I will look into the "Search Everything" program.

My Windows Index finally completed. I had my doubts that it ever would. I will probably disable it after I become more comfortable with "Search Everything."

I have also downloaded and am practicing using "Search Everything." It is very powerful and will take me a bit to get the full hang of it. It is a truly amazing program! It is light and fast and will find everything even on all my external backup drives! Too cool!

Thank you for the suggestion of the " Super Finder" as well. I will look into it.

I use Super Finder.

And if you're happy with it, that's great :). HOWEVER - it was developed for XP, was updated to support Vista, and their website hasn't been updated since 2011. There really are better options

Super Finder XT   v. 1.6.3.2. for Vista and Win 7.   And Win 7 is 9 years old, so I find them totally compatible. Will give Everything a try too, just to compare.
