Today I went out and went completely crazy at my local store and also online.
Arriving over the next few days will be a new Sony Bravia 40" widescreen hires, hidef LCD monitor/TV, a 250GB DVD Recorder, a 2GB USB flash drive, a 250GB Seagate HDD, and 2x512 MB RAM.
Hopefully I will be able to glue this lot together but I do expect to be back with a few questions as I go.
Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.
I have never been in the position of being able to do this type of thing before so, it has been a particularly satisfying day so far.

Cheers

Still have 6 months hire purchase on the old PC. It is 2.8GHz so with 1GB RAM and a 250GB HDD, it should hold its own for a while yet. Any way, more fun playing with the old one - provided everything goes to plan. My existing 40GB HDD is a mess, over 300,000 files, broken file paths etc. As a reinstall of XP Home was due, thought I may as well do it on a decent size drive.

Cheers
