I want to be able to pull the HD or SSD from my friends PC and run it on my Dell Precision M6700.

Can I accomplish this, and how?

The easiest way would be to connect the "infected" drive with USB adapter.  If the drive is a desktop drive you will need an adapter that has an external power supply.

Personally I have the Vantec for desktop drives and StarTech for laptop drives.

Make sure that you have Auto Run turned off before dealing with a possibly infected drive.
