HP DV8 1110E Screen Problem

Screen won't stay on
Close the lid and slowly open - pic appears then goes off
Shine light on screen and you can see pic in background
Changed inverter - no difference
All linked with closing and opening lid - can't be the cable as I have had it loose and wiggled it with no difference.
There is a magnet sensor around the ON switch to do with the lid I guess - when I bring a magnet close to it temporarily and pull it away, (when the screen is dim) the screen flashes on for 1 second and goes off again
Any ideas

I might have cracked it

There is a small circuit board that contains the on switch under the ON button

There is a sensor at the top near the screen that reacts to the magnet

Maybe the ribbon connector was not secure or something else happened when I investigated, but it seems alright now


I will replace this board if it happens again
