Hi everyone,

My computer has been attacked two weeks ago I guess by two different ransomware, probably through RDP.

One of the viruses was identified by the id-ransomware website as Amnesia, and I was able to decrypt a lot of files thanks to Emsisoft Amnesia Decrypter.

Unfortunately, a lot of crypted files remain, all of them with a .troy extention. That makes me think of an other ransomware, but I couldn't find any ransom note, and the id-ransomware website doesn't recognize it when I submit some encrypted file.

The website gives this reference : SHA1: 01720bdf11ac06b094729897cac61f8b796cc2d5

Does anyone know something about this particular extension ?

Thanks very much for your help

All I can find on this one is another victim on DSL Reports.

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31438409-TROY-Encrypter-Virus

I see some submissions to ID Ransomware with note "HOW_TO_RESTORE_FILES.html", which is hitting false-positives with Crypt0L0cker it seems. The note itself looks like GlobeImposter based on the look and ID pattern, which I'm afraid is not decryptable. I will double-check and confirm tomorrow.

Hi Demonslay335,

I've seen this link also this morning, I will regularly check there to see if they find some solution.

Thanks for your help.

Yep, thank you, I know this, I meant I would check on the other forum (DSL Reports) for some updates... Sorry for the confusion.

Unfortunately, this was confirmed to be GlobeImposter, which is not decryptable.

Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the below support topic discussion. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.

Thanks
