What is PCWorld thinking?!?!?!?!? In it's encryption section, it has Winguard listed as a download tool for secure encryptions. I was almost about to download it when I decided to check out it's publisher (I thought the name was too familar and related to Winfixer) and that's when McAfee SiteAdvisor went wild with red.

Winguard Download Page

The link won't start a download, merely take you to the page where PCWorld has it's article on it. BUT DO NOT DOWNLOAD Winguard!

Winguard is made by WG-Soft and is readily available for download from major sites such as softpedia, majorgeeks, etc.

Winfixer is a rogue security program made by WinSoftware, Ltd. See Sunbelt's Research Center: Winfixer info.

The reason SiteAdvisor flags the site Red, is because of it's online affiliations:

Links to red sites
When we tested this site we found links to fileedge.com, which we found to be a distributor of downloads some people consider adware, spyware or other unwanted programs.

They have no problem with the downloads from the site:

winguardpro.com
In our tests, we found downloads on this site were free of adware, spyware, and other unwanted programs.
