Hi christine154,

Welcome to BleepingComputer Forums and thanks again for your patience.

1. You are running HijackThis from C:\Documents and Settings\Craftpeople\My Documents\PRORAM DOWNOADS. HJT creates backups and we want them safe and secure should they be required later. For that reason I recommend to remove HijackThis to its own location.
Create a folder on your C: drive: click Start > My Computer, open/double-click your C:\ drive, select New, next Folder and call it C:\hijackthis. Drag HijackThis into that folder!

2. We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

You may re-enable it again when your computer is clean; I will let you know!

3. Download Brute Force Uninstaller.
Unzip (right click and choose Extract all) it to itís own folder (e.g. c:\BFU)

RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download EGDACCESS Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier (e.g. c:\BFU)

Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by double clicking BFU.exe

In the scriptline to execute copy and paste c:\bfu\EGDACCESS.bfu
Press execute and let it do itís job.

Wait for the complete script execution box to popup and press OK.
Press exit to terminate the BFU program.

4. Run HijackThis, click Scan and checkmark the following entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4D1C4E81-A32A-416b-BCDB-33B3EF3617D3} - (no file)

Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

10.
  • Launch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess.
  • Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan"
  • Ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
  • Ewido will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it should automatically set the recommended action to Quarantine--if not click on Recommended Action and set it there. Click the Apply all actions button. Ewido will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
  • Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).
  • Close ewido.
Please reboot and post the Ewido report together with a fresh HijackThis log for review.

Hi christine154,

Sorry for the long wait. :flowers:

hi heres what you ask for

Thanks but not quite, since you didn't remove HijackThis to its own folder.

I assume you succeeded in starting up Safe Mode after all?

HijackThis log looks clean, as does the Ewido report.

Okay do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Please post the Kaspersky report in your next reply and let me know how things are running.

Hi christine154,

Kaspersky is clean as well so I think you're ready to go but before doing that.........

1. Click Start > Conrol Panel > Internet Options (2X) > Temp. internet files > click Delete cookies and Delete files > Okay and close the control panel.

If very active at te internet you may do this every two weeks if not so active once a month will do.

2. Remove previous restore points and set a new one to purge any malware that may have been backed up:

Click Start>Help and Support>Undo changes to your computer with System Restore
Click Create A Restore Point then click Next. Give it a name it and then click Create

Click Start>Run and type Cleanmgr
Click the More Options Tab.
Click Clean Up in the System Restore section.

This will remove all previous restore points except the newly created one.

3. You may re-enable Windows Defender now:

Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and check Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you check this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

4. In order to prevent future infections follow these recommendations:

a. Visit Windows Update on a regular basis to stay current with critical updates.

b. Install and run the following free programs:

* Ad-Aware SE
A tutorial on using Ad-Aware to remove spyware from your computer may be found here!

* Spybot-Search & Destroy
A tutorial on using Spybot to remove spyware from your computer may be found
here! Please also remember to enable Spybot's "Immunize" and "TeaTimer" features.

* SpywareBlaster
A tutorial on using SpywareBlaster to prevent spyware from ever installing on your computer may be found here!

* SpywareGuard
A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for realtime protection against spyware and hijackers may be found here!

* IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

Keep all these programs (including your anti-virus) up-to-date and run them regularly.
If you do not update regularly they will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

c. I recommend you to read Tony Klein's excellent article: So how did I get infected in the first place?

d. If you want to fight back the Malware Writers, please take a look here!

Glad I was able to help and if there are any other problems related to your computer please feel free to post them in the appropriate forum. Though we help people with spyware and viruses here at BleepingComputer Forums, we also help people with other computer problems! Do not forget to tell your friends about us!

Good luck! :flowers:
