i had this card given to me for free in presumably working condition,

it is a GeForce 8800GT

put it in my computer and fired it up, the fan spins but no display on the screen....black

looking a bit closer at the card it has two ports at the end that look like 6 pin power ports?

do these need power from the power supply?.....if so both of them or just one?

also there is a "jumper pin" next to the two power ports....what is that for?

pics attached...........

Looks like you need to plug two 6 pin power plugs in and the jumper is for voltage changes if overclocking.

thanks,

my power supply does not have any spare 6 pin connectors, would it be possible to use a spare 4 pin for a hard drive with some type of conversion cable to make it 6 pins?

That card requires at least a 400 watt power supply, do you know what wattage your power supply is? I believe there is an adapter that may work if you don't have the 6 pin connector but the 400 watt requirement is more important.
