I have a custom built computer that has been working just fine for months. I use BlueStacks version 0.10.7.5601 to play my android games on my computer. When I opened Bluestacks yesterday after updating my Geforce GT 720 drivers, my computer bluescreened and restarted. I uninstalled those graphics drivers and installed an older version but the same thing happens every time I launch Bluestacks. This app player has been working fine until yesterday. I have tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it multiple times as well but that doesn't work either. Everything else so far seems to work just fine. I use this older version of Bluestacks on my other computers in my home and it works just fine on them, even after updating the graphics on them. So something got corrupted with it on this one computer. All are running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings, Falneth,

Can you use System Restore to revert your computer to an earlier, working state?

I have tried to use System Restore but it apparently failed. I say that because when it finished rebooting, it gave an error message stating that it did fail due to being unable to access a file (did not state what the inaccessible file was).

Thank you for your cooperation. I was concerned that there was something wrong with your Windows installation. The one and only dump file indicated a STOP 0x00000124: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR bugcheck, which typically points to hardware issues (though low-level drivers are sometimes responsible). Anyway, the dump claimed that there was a CPU cache error on Processor 0 Bank 6. But since you only got BSODs AFTER new graphics drivers, I suspect software as the main fault here, but I'll treat both as potential culprits.

Please immediately uninstall DAEMON TOOLS Lite, as it causes BSODs on some systems. Also run an SFC scan... some errors in the WER section of the MSInfo32 report point to corrupted system files:

:step1: System File Checker

  • Click Start, enter cmd.exe in the Search box, right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
  • Type the following command and hit ENTER:
sfc /SCANNOW
  • After the scan is finished, you will see one of three things:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
  • If you see either of the two latter messages, please immediately enter the following command:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
  • Then, attach sfcdetails.txt, which is found on your Desktop, in your next reply.

Apart from that, I would do the following:

Also, since these could be graphics card problems, please try putting your graphics card on another slot on your motherboard.

Regards,

bwv848

I uninstalled Daemon tools and rebooted. Then I opened the command prompt to run the system file checker. About 30 seconds after I started the system file checker, the computer blue screened and rebooted. I booted back into normal windows and ran the SysnativeBSOD collection app. I have attached the new dump and perfmon files for your inspection.

That BSOD occurred when you had Driver Verifier enabled. It pointed to AVG and Malwarebytes drivers. Please reinstall Malwarebytes, as older versions can cause BSODs:

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/199028-bsod-bad-pool-header-crash-fixed-by-mb-306-cu4/

For now, disable Driver Verifier and try the SFC scan again.

I actually had just installed the latest version of MalwareBytes this morning because it was not updating from version 3.0.0 to the latest. I am in the process of doing the SFC scan right now. I'll let you know the results as soon as it is finished.

Ok... Here are the results of the SFC scan:

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

As for CPU temp, I have a Corsair Hydro Series H50 liquid cooler on my CPU. I have also been keeping Windows as up to date as possible. Secunia PSI showed me as having only 2 programs out of date: PDF-XChange Viewer and VLC Media Player.

Thanks for the update. Try to run the hardware diagnostics and update your drivers/BIOS. There's a newer version of your BIOS available which may aid in general system stability.

Hey bwv848. I discovered on the computer that i was having issues with at that time that my wife's nephew had installed a bunch of software that included a lot of malware. Therefore I ended up completely reinstalling Windows on her computer.

However, I am having issues with my laptop, also running BlueStacks, same version. I recently installed a SSD as my boot drive and am using the SSHD that came with it as a data drive. Considering it is the same issue, do I need to make a new post or can I just continue this post for my laptop now?

BTW, here are the specs for my laptop:

· OS - Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista ? - Windows 7
· x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? - X64
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7 Pro
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? - Full Retail
· Age of system (hardware) 1 year
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? - 2 weeks OS age, have reinstalled multiple times.

· CPU - Intel Core i7
· Video Card - Nvidia Geforce GTX 950m
· MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) - N/A
· Power Supply - brand & wattage (skip if laptop)

· System Manufacturer - Dell
· Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom) - Inspiron 7559

· Laptop or Desktop? - Laptop

I tried to run the most recent version of Bluestacks 3 (ran without Bluescreening but kept going black in app player) - uninstalled and put old version back on and immediately began blue screening again. This older version of bluestacks ran just fine last week.

Hi,

Since this is another system, please start a new topic and follow these BSOD posting instructions. We need the Sysnative File Collection App's help to diagnose your system properly. PM me the link and I'll respond ASAP.

Thanks.
