Hello!

I've fairly recently done a full format of the main system drive on my machine and a week or so on I've just had my first BSOD on the new installation - yippee.

I normally ignore these and then problems seem to swell over time, but it would be great if someone could help to diagnose what the issue could be on this first one to try and stop things getting worse over time.

I have attached a zip flie that stores the .dmp file within, I don't think I'm giving away anything too private by sharing this. Do let me know if I am, though.

I can see it looks like the cause is Mass Effect Andromeda - which doesn't surprise me as it's a pretty buggy game - but not sure it should be causing a BSOD? I couldn't see any driver files or similar at issue here though, so I wasn't sure where to start.

Any advice appreciated! Thank you.

It's a bit difficult to diagnose things using a lone memory dump.

Please run this report collecting tool so that we can provide a complete analysis: (from the pinned topic at the top of the forum)   http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/
FYI - I don't often use the Perfmon report, so if it doesn't work please just let me know.
NOTE:  On problem systems it can take up to 20 minutes for the log files to complete.  Please be patient and let it run.

If you still have problems with it running, there's an alternate tool here (direct download link):  https://github.com/blueelvis/BSOD-Inspector/releases/download/1.0.5/BSODInspector-1.0.5.exe

NOTE:
Please zip up the (.ZIP) files - do not use .RAR, .7z or other compression utilities.
.ZIP is the type file that can be uploaded to the forums.

**************************************************************************************************

This memory dump seems suggestive of a video problem, and may be due to a hardware problem.

This is not a certain diagnosts - as hardware problems need many memory dumps for us to be certain.
And, even then, these type problems can also be due to compatibility or low-level driver issues.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version F18) dates from 2012.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

I cannot tell how many Windows Update hotfixes you have for this version of your OS, please double check for any new Windows Updates.  It only takes one update to cause a problem, so it's essential that you have all of them.  The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Please note that these 3 drivers date from before W10 was released.
Please update them to the latest, W10 compatible version:

Beyond that, if this is indeed a hardware problem, try these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Please finish ALL of the tests and let us know the results so that we can move on from there.

Good luck!

Hello John!

Thank you ever so much for the reply. I've updated my BIOS as well as the other drivers that you flagged as being out of date. I'll work my way through the hardware tests and let you know when I've completed them, and if the issue repeats.

Have attached the SysnativeFileCollectionApp report and Perfmon report.

Thanks.

No memory dumps in the uploaded reports.

If you're using a disk cleaner (such as CCleaner), please stop while we're troubleshooting.

The KernelDumpList.txt file doesn't show any memory dumps either.

Have you done anything that might have overwritten or deleted the memory dumps?

You have a NETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB3.0 Adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later systems - using older drivers with them is almost certain to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have the latest W7/8/8.1/10 drivers - DO NOT use older drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

You had 2 BSOD's on the 22nd of May.

There were also 4 Live Kernel Events - 2 on the 14th of May and 2 on the 16th of May

Live Kernel Events are most often associated with hardware, compatibilty, or low-level driver problems.

Please start with these free hardware diagnsotics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Please complete ALL of the diagnostic tests and let us know the results

Hi John,

Since posting this I've actually had a more significant hardware issue (my motherboards seems to have given up the ghost) so we can close this for now.

Your help was greatly appreciated.
