Backing up over and over

Actually you can get Acronis for free, see here. http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=119&lang=en You have to have at least 1 Western Digital drive though. The software will not work if it doesn't see at least 1 Western Digital drive. Seagate has the same I believe.

That's ok, you made a good point!  Using provided-with-hardware software is ok most of the time; there are times that a more stronger, more independent backup/restore/clone program is called for.
