My friend has recently purchased a Sony VAOI model PCG-7Q8P and it keeps crashing. Usually her crashes are just kept at frozen screens and stuff, a problem i hear that is normal with sony's, but her recent computer crash was kinda odd.

the screen was frozen in a turquoise blue color, and nothing else was on the screen. Its not even like a bluescreen error, just a turquoise color with nothing else on the screen.

If anyone knows what is wrong then...?

It sounds like Windows is not loading.
Do you have either the Sony Restore disks or a Windows XP disk?

Can the computer be started in Safe Mode?

(You access safe mode by tapping the F8 key as soon as the computer is powered on - before Windows tries to start)

If it will start in safe mode choose "Last Known Good Configuration" with the arrow keys.

Let us know.
