Hello!

I went to check my email yesterday and when I clicked on firefox I got an error message for the WINMM.dll error. After looking online for some solutions and attempting those nothing helped. A friend led me here to get help. I read a few of the other forum posts pretaining to this same issue but also saw that each issue is different and not to follow another thread and that each matter would be handled on an indvidual basis. So here I am

I did run sfc scannow to find the error and it gave me an error log for an audio file. I do not have the log saved. But did take a photo of it with my phone to send to a friend for help.

This morning I uninstalled Firefox on the suggestion of another friend and also uninstalled Steam.

After uninstalling these items I ran DISM /online /cleanup-image / restorehealth. The log said it worked and errors were cleaned up. After restarting my computer I continued to get all of the same errors.

I have my computer backed up to my external hard drive so I am set to go with the next suggestion

I did attach a log not sure if it will be of any assistance or not

Also Ran FRST and included those logs as well

Attached File  PerfStringBackup.INI   1.57MB   0 downloads

Thank you

Sara

Good Morning Nasdaq!

I went to delete Google Update Helper, but this is not on my computer to be removed.

I have posted the results of the fixlog.

I downloaded Malwarebytes and got an error code. Same with the AdwCleaner. I was not able to run the necessary scans because of the errors that persist.

Thank you,

Sara

So I have an update. I stepped away from my computer after my response. When I came back into the room my AVG popups were on my screen. I was also able to open other applications. While I had this ability I ran the malware scan. After the scan it asked for a restart so after saving my log I restarted my computer only to have the same errors pop back up and I am still unable to do the AdwCleaner download.

I have attached my malware logs

I am going to a mothers day celebration and will be away from the house for a few hours.

Again, Thank you for your time and assistance!

Sara

I suspect the the AVG is stopping the Download or the running of the AdwCleaner tool.

Check the AVG quarantine folder.
Check this page.
https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-restore-or-remove-file-from-the-Virus-Vault

Dequarantine the program if found.

Let me know what problem persists with this computer.

The error I get for it is adwcleaner_6.046.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WINMM.dll is either not designed to run on WIndorws or it contains and error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error Status 0xc0000006.

I get this same error popping up for Apsdaemon.exe, Expresstray.exe, discord.exe, Battle.net.exe. Basically any program that I attempt open gives me this error.

I reran the sfc/scannow and the computer seems to be running fine now.

I also ran the Adwcleaner and am attaching the log.

Thank you for your assistance!
