This topic should be used for help and support with the RSAUtil ransomware. This ransomware encrypts a victim's files and then appends an extension like .helppme@india.com.ID83624883 to encrypted files.

rsautil-lock-screen.jpg

Ransom notes named How_return_files.txt will be created in each folder that a file was decrypted.

At this point it is not currently decryptable, but may be in the future.

There still is no known way to decrypt files encrypted by RSAUtil without paying the ransom that I am aware of. If possible, your best option is to restore from backups or wait for a possible solution at a later time.

When or if a decryption solution is found, that information will be provided in this support topic and you will receive notification if subscribed to it. In addition, a news article most likely will be posted on the BleepingComputer front page.

I have successfully decrypted the files using Dr.Web. One of my clients was hit by the RSAUtil ransomware and much research led me to Dr.Web's decryption services. I used his tool and was able to decrypt the files.

That's good news.

For any other victims interested...Updated Dr.Web policy regarding the recovery of ransomware-corrupted files (03/28/17): ...free data recovery is now only available to users of commercial Dr.Web licenses provided that the Dr.Web components responsible for reducing the risk of Trojan.Encoder-caused infections were properly configured and running at the moment of infection.

If you're not a licensed user for a Dr.Web product you will have to pay for their services (Rescue Pack). Fees may vary depending on the infection and amount of data to be decrypted.

This has long been known. Since May 2017 Dr.Web release a private decoder for RSAUtil. :)
If you look at the comments of the main article about RSAUtil Ransomware, you can see that many people have returned their files.
