I was just about to download Combofix when I saw that it is not supported on Windows 10.  Does anyone have insight as to when this might change?

Thanks, Col Ron

Col_Ron:

From what I have read, there are no plans by the author of ComboFix to make it Windows 8.1 or 10 compatible.

You should consult this post to determine why running ComboFix is not recommended, unless you are directed to do so by a Malware Response Team member or a Malware Response Instructor.

Have a great day.

ComboFix most likely never will be updated to support Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 since there are other alternatives (such as FRST, Zoek) which are being used by malware removal experts. However, the developer (sUBs) periodically releases updates and fixes for older supported operating systems.

Unless you know how to read and analyze logs from FRST, there's no point in downloading and using it. If FRST is needed for a malware infection you should seek assistance from an expert who will advise you accordingly.
