using tor and proxychains in kali linux

hello everyone in this awesome platform. please am new here and am in real need of this info.


i downloaded,extracted and run tor on a new user i created cus i heard its not wise to use tor on root user.

but when i switch back to root and i run


____"service tor status"_____, it shows

____unit tor.service could not be found.____


and when i just  try to use


_____"proxychains firefox www.duckduckgo.com",____


it loads firefox but always says


_____"server not found"_____


i dont know if i am doing it wrong please need answers

"Server not found" means your internet connection is offline. Check your wifi settings and network cable first.
