If you open the game and just get a black screen - this is usually caused by the game not recognizing your monitor/graphics cards native resolution properly;

Running the game from Steam

  • Go to the game

  • Right Click and select " Properties "

  • In the General tab, select " Set Launch Options "

  • Add " -windowed "

Then Running the game from the Native Installer/exe

Thank you for the quick reply!

Of the three broken games, only Cities respected the "-windowed" option. The others still opened in full-screen. I didn't find any difference between launching through Steam vs running the .exes from the file explorer.

Any other suggestions?

This forum has always been more helpful in the past. I still have the same issue as before.
