I posted a problem on the Windows 98 forum and was advised to run HJT, but I was unable to do so. I'm posting it on this forum since I'm having problems running HJT. I hope I'm not posting improperly.

I tried to follow your directions for Hijackthis. I created a folder on my C drive and named it Hijackthis, unzipped the file to the Hijackthis folder and ran a scan. When I got to the part to Save log I designated it to save the log in the Hijackthis folder I had created and I got the following pop-up window:

Windows Installer

Incorrect command line parameters
Windows Installer.V.2.2600.2
Copyright 2000 Microsoft Corporation
All rights reserved
Portions of this software are based
in part on the work of the Independent JPEG Group

I tried it several times with the same results. Any idea what I should do now?

Thanks for the help,

Mary

Don't have a specific answer, but have you tried saving to some other location, say the desktop?

HJT creats a simple text file that will open in Notepad. Does Notepad run OK? Can you open other txt files in Notepad?
