I got a smartphone Samsung Galaxy 4S from a friend and I would
like to determine if the phone is locked or unlocked. How can
I do that ? One method seems to use a SIM card from another
supplier.Unfortunately I do not have access to another card.
By the way my supplier is Telus.
                    Thank you

Was your friend using telus as well?

Edit: I see the device is 4g lte. You could check the esn with your carrier and
The can tell you.

Best is if you contact your provider, they would be more than welcoming to let you know.

But if you need more info, you can check out this thread at Android Central on How to find out if my Samsung Galaxy S4 is Unlocked?

Hope you get through.
