Has windows 7 and is HP Elitebook 8440p. I always used a mouse on it but the touchpad worked and now it's not anymore. I looked at the mouse settings but didn't know what to do there. I never changed anything in the first place. Help!

It's not my laptop and I have to give it back and I want it to work normally.

According to the service manual, page 2-4, there is a touch button to turn the touchpad on and off.

Phew! Thank you, it worked. I must have accidentally pressed on it. I had no idea about the button though.
