On Sunday, I left my laptop on & when I returned later in the day it had rebooted. Since the reboot, I'm unable to get flashplayer to load in either Edge or IE11. (It works if I used Chrome.) Both state the flash player is blocked by the browser. I verified both have flash player enabled in edge. I aloso verified that Active X Filtering is disabled in Edge.

My windows is Win 10 Pro Version 1607 OS Build 14393.106 The laptop is approx. 1 1/2 years old & came in with windows 10 Pro installed.

My laptop has one user account & it is an administrator.

The attached file is a screen shot of the error message. I clicked on the follow these instructions & that did not solve the problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I followed the instructions and it says shockwave player is enabled, but if I go to a screen that uses flashplayer. I get the message to enable it.

Learn to use Google Search.  :busy:

Make full system images to restore to if your computer goes bonkers.

For Opera---

In Opera you use real Flash not Pepper Flash.

You make sure that Flash Player is enabled.

  1. Click the "..." button to access the Edge menu.
  2. Select the Settings menu item.
  3. Scroll down to the Advanced Settings section and click the View advanced settings button.
  4. Locate the Use Adobe Flash Player section and toggle the switch on to enable Adobe Flash Player.
  5. Refresh your web page or open a new browser tab.

Or you can enable or disable Adobe Flash Player using a REG file

The .reg files below make changes to the DWORD value in the registry key below

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge\Addons

FlashPlayerEnabled DWORD

0 = disable
1 = enable

Done

For those of you who are not familiar with editing the registry you need to be aware that if mistakes are made in this process it can render your computer inoperable.

Here is one program which works well and is easy to use.

To backup the registry please download and install Tweaking.com Registry Backup.

Play the video below for operating instructions.

I used regedit & verified that the key listed above was set to 1. I set it to zero & clicked ok & then changed it to 1 & clicked ok. The problem still exists.

Is it possible to reinstall flashplayer for Edge & IE11 in windows 10?

If Flash still isn't working in Edge and IE11, try uninstalling the latest security update for Flash installed on your system.  That would at least eliminate the possibility that the Flash.ocx file is damaged.
