I bought a USB mic for my Lenovo laptop, and for over a week it was great. Suddenly today it started making a HUGE buzzing noise. like extremely loud, not background noise.
I tried to play with some settings but nothing worked and I did some research and found some people talking about ground looping and electrical grounding? I don't know much about this stuff.
The crazy part is. When I unplug my laptop from the charger, the buzzing gets low. But if I touch the charging cable, literally just touch it even if it's far away from my laptop, the buzzing comes back super loud. What's happening? I'm just touching it with my fingers and it's not plugged in and my microphone is buzzing like crazy.
How come it's been fine for over a week and only now I'm experiencing this?
Things I've tried:
Adjusting microphone settings.
Closing plays.tv (gaming recording software)
Restarting my computer
Changing USB ports. (when I did this, it started installing my headset into that USB port, and then everything was okay for 20 minutes before the problem happened again.)
