My current ccleaner application is invalid and when downloading the updated version you are presented with either 14 day free trial or buy now. Can anyone suggest a freeware that will provide the same application?

Thank you.

Hi,

CCleaner is available as free version for personal use check this https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download maybe you have downloaded the Professional version as Trial and now its expired.

Try to remove the old version and then download and install the free one.

CCleaner is exactly as it was - freeware, for which is able to get a couple of additional service, when you buy a license. This has been a very long time so.
If you wanted to install trial version, then that's your problem. Trial version as also been for year already 14 days long.
Do not make a mess and share wrong info.

Thank you for your reply. It is the same program I have had for years. I deleted everything from my files for ccleaner and I'm still only getting free trial version of Professional, or buy Professional.

After going to the Piriform download page (which was supposed to just be an upgrade of current ccleaner) I still got the same message, however, I went to the very bottom of the page under DOWNLOADS and was directed to a different download page that said you would have to download the Professional for a 14 day trial period, but would have the option after that time to switch to free.

https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download (doesn't state that after 14 day trail you can switch to free)

https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner (does state that after 14 day trial you can switch to free)

At this time all ccleaner free downloads appear to have to try the 14 day trial first.

This came about for me when my at that time current ccleaner said to update to a newer version.

Again, thank you SleepyDude.

Download site and links

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

If You do not want regitered version, simply close CCleaner, open installation folder and delete these two files
  • autotrial.dat (trial activation) or CCleaner.dat (if Your key is expired)
  • branding.dll

or simply uninstall current version and download standard edition

The most important difference:
  1. Standard version don't clean browser cache automatically
  2. don't clean all users junk at once, but every user must clean himself
  3. cannot use auto update option, must do it manually.

"...Standard version don't clean browser cache automatically..."

CCEnhancer will kick in ccleaner to automatically once daily to clean whatever is clicked in the two menu ribbons.
