I have a Samsung Series 9 Ultra Book, which had been upgraded to Windows 10 during the free upgrade period and then reverted to windows 8.1. It is permanently activated for Windows 10.

Recently I tried to upgrade the OS to windows 10 using the method shown in SS 1, but the display remained as SS 2 for hours without any progress.

What has happened and what should I do?

Turn off firewall it could be causing the download issue.

You can also upgrade to Windows 10 with Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.

Since you rolled back from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 you will need to do a clean install of Windows 10.  You can not use the upgrade.  As suggested you can use the Media Creation Tool to download the Windows 10 ISO file and use it to create the installation media.  You can use either a disc or flash drive.

There are three options, use the second option Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on different PC.

Once you have created the installation media and installed Windows 10 you will need to go to the Samsung website and download the drivers for your computer.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

You can upgrade Windows 10 from Windows 7/8. This can be easily done by using the Media Creation Tool.
