I decided to emigrate to the USA. I know nobody there and will be going alone. This means that after college I would have near-complete freedom in choosing where to try to settle next.

If you were in my shoes, and had absolute freedom to pick one city in which to attempt to build a life, which one would you go for?:)

The one which offered the greatest opportunity for employment.  If none...then I would stay where I am :).

Yeah, Louis, I am 99% sure that I am going to try my odds in NYC, since I would like to work in the financial industry. That's why I started this topic actually, in order to maybe find out about towns which native Americans would pick, had they got the chance to 'start fresh'.
Thank you for your input!:)

Stay away from Rhode Island.

It does have a colorful history, recent history, that is. This page will start you from the beginning. Scroll down to Chapter 1: Divine Providence.

Who would know better? Give that podcast a listen. I enjoyed it because I know a lot of the people they talk about, at least in passing.
