Corrupted Images

Hi,

Not sure if its the right place but my images on sdcard seem to have been corrupted. the thumbnails seem fine for the image but when I click them *Poof*

Here is a snapshot

I have not modified or tried to overwrite anything on the memory card.

Probably the memory card is corrupted..its a bit of a thorny issue trying to fix images and a lot of the sofware used is not free.

 

There are people about with a lot of technical skill with images,try and get one of them to play with yours,or hopefully someone more

knowledgable than me will chip in.

 

You could try running the images through this freware and see what it does (dont know how many files it will let you recover for free)

A lot of threads suggest IrfanView image viewer will sometimes open files others see as corupted,might be worth a shot.

Please open the Command Prompt by simply holding down the BxVxp04.png + X keys and select the option “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu.

Type following command and press Enter key.

Chkdsk  X:  /f

Replace X: drive letter with memory card drive letter.

It may be worth trying Photorec,ive never used it but ive used the companian Testdisk quite a few times amost always sucessfully...woth a shot.

Have you verified this on another machine? Just curious if it is a codec issue or some other corruption.

check disk was the first thing I tried didn't help, tried irfan view and some free recovery apps did'nt help I will try you suggestions and update thanks for the help!
