Hi Mattie, Welcome to BleepingComputer.com. Your log does not look bad, there are a couple of items you do not need there, but first let me tell you that AVG 6.0 will no longer be supported by Grissoft after 12/31/04. The new version AVG Free is ready for download here:
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php There is no need to uninstall AVG 6.0 and it will be removed during the download process.

Scan with HijackThis and check these two line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.imgfarm.com/images/nocache/funwe...etup1.0.0.8.cab
-FunWebProducts

Close all browser windows and programs and click on "Fix Checked"

Clean like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Allow windows to remove anything it locates. Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Using Add Reply to stay in this same thread, post a new log along with any comments you have.

Thanks...pskelley

Hello Mattie, Your log is clean  , here is some great information by Tony Klein, Texruss and ChrisRLG to help you stay that way:

http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=3051
http://russelltexas.com/malware/allclear.htm
http://www.cjwd.demon.co.uk/compsafetyonline.html

and fyi avg version 7 has som bugs im told and personaly im gonna stay with 6 untill they stop the updates..

In reference to AVG Free, I have it installed on quite a few clients computers and it is working perfect, with a great new interface that is very user friendly. I am also dealing with many users online and the issues with it are few in comparison with say Norton (Symantec). I am betting there are no longer updates for AVG 6.0, and as I said, the company has indicated that all support ends 12/31/04.
If you wish to try something else, here are two that are free right now:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/index.c...582BE49AF2FC446

Now if I could, let me ask a couple of questions please. Since you did not mention a specific problem when you posted, could you tell us what motivated you to post your log? If it was because of a general slowness we may be able to help you with other issues that cause that.

Thanks...pskelley

Thanks Mattie, we are glad that we could help. I do wish to point out though that we all work together at the different forums. If you post to more than one you can cause a duplication of efforts that result in someone else receiving a slow response time. Which is probably what happened to you. If you use the service again, wait a reasonable amount of time (which is often up to a week) due to the hugh amount of logs being posted, then post into the thread indicating that you have been waiting, and still need help. This will "bump" you back to the top and should get attention. Don't do this multiple time though as it will look to folks hunting for logs to respond to that you have had multiple responses. I hope this helps. Have a great holiday season...pskelley
