Budget desktop; ASUS mobo, 4GB RAM, Win 7 Home Premium, printer USB connected

The computer was built by a local company with an excellent reputation both for quality and after-sales, I have been buying my components from them for over twenty years. It belongs to a friend of mine who, while elderly, still has all her marbles.

About three months ago her previous printer died and she replaced it with this Epson and Friday I got a phone call saying she had a printer problem - it wasn't printing her emails.

It scans and prints from a scan and prints perfectly from Word, it just will not print her emails. I was pushed for time when I finally got round to her on Saturday afternoon and did not have time to get too involved but it does not print my emails AOL on Firefox or hers, BTinternet/Yahoo on Firefox, A printer message pops up very briefly but there is no further printer action nor is there anything in the print queue.

If I had had more time I would have re-installed the printer but since it is printing correctly from Word it doesn't seem there is any problem with the installation.

Any less obvious suggestions ?

This appears to be a Firefox/Epson problem. I uninstalled her previous, v47, Firefox and re-installed the current, v52, version. this brought up a printer dialogue screen for long enough to read but it then disappeared and still no printing !

Switched over to Chrome, which she also had installed, and emails from my accounts on Chrome printed perfectly as did emails from her own account.

At this point I bailed. I copied her bookmarks across from Firefox and set her home page to BTinternet and Chrome as her default browser. Chicken I know, but she's happy - she can print emails again. But I think I will drop Mozilla an email about this.
