Hello all

I've been trying lots of different things, looking and looking for a solution to this, its driving me up the wall!

Playing games in ultra etc is perfect, no lag, no stuttering, micro etc. But, when I'm using Firefox or Chrome it will randomly start to lag/stutter and get slow after some time until I minimize the browser or something else like opening task manager etc and it will go back to normal... This only happens when using an internet browser, possibly flash related?

Also something else which is more than likely related. When watching youtube videos or any other videos there is micro stutter, never goes away!

Keep in mind PC games will play 100% perfectly, smooth etc. Everything on MSI afterburner looks fine, clean computer

So what the heck is going on here? Its driving me bananas! Any help or info about this would be greatly appreciated! :)

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.

Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

post-33068-0-86653600-1480692866_thumb.j

Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

See Maize Reported Issues Section.

Avast Peak RAM usage is approximately 3 times what I would consider normal...I would interpret that to mean an excess number of threats to be handled.

Firefox peak RAM usage is approximately double what I would expect.  Typical peak would be 300MB or less.

WDC WD2500JS-00NCB1 ATA Device...appears to have possible problem, operational status per Speccy of "Warning."  At the minimum, I would run the Data Lifeguard long/extened test on it.

You have apparent shadow copy problems of some sort reflected in the MTB data above...perhaps they relate to your WD drive.

We are not talking about the youtube video preload times, are we? (Not everyone has 800 Mbps D/L speeds, I know, and, some folks will have to live with waiting for videos to load, play 1 minute, pause, catch up, play some more, etc...; just making sure we are not talking about normal delays associated with slow internet service; what speeds do you show from speedtest.net ?

Was this build a clean install, or did we change from ATI to NVidia at some point in the past?

Are we sure we are not doing some sort of WIndows update and/or malware scan at the same time?

Is a nuke and pave problematic? (i.e, and concerns of data loss, install media, system product keys, etc..) A clean install would certainly clear malware , and certainly would clear any potential OS/driver/software glitches)

Does Chrome exhibit the same stutter? (Sorry, I saw you answered this, stutter in Chrome as well)

(Any mysterious tasks running in task manager or processexplorer?

Thanks Louis, I've had a look into your suggestions. No solution as of yet

Hi, I'm 99% sure its not my internet. I have roughly 6mb speed. It will still lag no matter what the quality of the video is set to. It will still lag even if the video is loaded fully on all video playback, not just youtube... everything

Yes this was a new install, totally new install. I built and installed this computer, no switching from ATI to Nvidia

No scans of any sort when this is happening, only Avast running in the background

Yep, stutter/lag happens in Chrome, Firefox (any version), Opera

I doubt there is any mysterious tasks running, this PC runs perfectly when the internet browser is minimized or closed

Have you tried turning off hardware acceleration?

Do you use an adblocker plugin/extension? I have experienced severe slowdown/lag on some sites with lots of ads and adblocker helped.

Weird issue you describe, if it lags you can just minimize the browser and restore it back and the issue goes away?

I see qbittorrent.exe running, are you downloading torrents while browsing? If not maybe kill that process to see if it is causing your issue.

Under scheduler I see Pherss Monitor do you know what that is? Google not showing much on it.

And lastly does Avast have any browser extensions enabled for protection? If so try disabling it temporarily, don't forget to turn it back on.

Yep, I use ublock origin

If it lags I just minimize the window and then the lag is gone until next time it happens randomly again

Happens whether its downloading torrents or not while browsing, also happens when its closed.

The "phress monitor" was an autoupdate that wasnt removed from previous software to clean registry etc.. I have deleted it now, this was only installed a few days ago, so this is not the problem.

I have tried Avast online security installed and unistalled, this is not the problem either

Its a real puzzle this one, I have no idea! lol
