Hello,

I have a problem with my system. After being turned on, if i dont wait a few minutes, the pc has a chance to crash as either a BSOD, freeze, etc. I tested the HD, RAM and it all came ok. I tried to debug the problem myself but couldnt find any solutions. After waiting the few minutes at startup, the system is stable and never ever crashes, only at startup.

· OS - Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista ?

- Windows 10
· x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?

- x64
· What was original installed OS on system?

- No original system, computer was self-built.
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)?

- Retail.
· Age of system (hardware)

- +/- 2010
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS?

 - 6months? (formating doesnt solve the problem)
· CPU

- AMD Phenon II 925
· Video Card

- ATI PCS+ 5850
· MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop)

- Asus M4A785TD-V EVO
· Power Supply - brand & wattage (skip if laptop)

- Corsair VX-450w
· System Manufacturer
 - N.A.

· Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom)
 - N.A.
· Laptop or Desktop?

 - Desktop

Thanks for reading.

Please start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Please run all of the diagnostics and let us know the results.

This type of problem is most often hardware related (although it can be compatibility or low-level driver related)

If you've already run some of them the way that I suggest, then please let us know about them.

Via HD Audio is disabled.  Why did you disable it?

Please re-enable it and then update it.  Once that's done, feel free to disable it if you'd like.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 2103) dates from 2010.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

Only 5 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 14393 (1607) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Not many BSOD's, but a lot of Live Kernel Events in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report

Again, this is usually a sign of a hardware problem (with compatibility and low-level drivers also being a possibilitiy)

I continue to mention compatibility because of the age of your motherboard.

Unfortunately, the only real test for compatibility issues of this sort is to install the original OS and see if the system works properly.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center.  This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

NOTE:  these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive.  The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program.
Please note that I stated "video stuff", as some integrated processors may have the graphics chip built in (which may involve the chipset software).
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from http://www.amd.com (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLYhttp://www.sysnative.com/forums/showthread.php/668-ATI-video-cards-DRIVER-ONLY-installation-procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install".  Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the entry will remain in Device Manager even though you've removed it.  So, open up Device Manager and check for the AODDriver4.2.0 (it may have another number).  Right click on it and select "Uninstall".  If it asks to remove software, put a check in the box.  Then click on OK.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's.  If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Finally, the 2 memory dumps are of the type that is seen with hardware issues.

Please finish ALL of the hardware diagnostics and let us know the results - then we'll move on from there.

Thank you for answering.

I did everything you asked for. I had already run tests on memory and disk (memtest and samsung HD util) and they couldn't find anything.

I ran intel burn test but ill try to do prime95. If that doesnt fail, how can i tell which component is dying? The system is perfectly stable on games and stress tests thus far.

All the diagnostics must have been run - as the next steps rely on it.

I don't have much faith in the Samsung diagnostics.  Please run the Seagate Seatools long/extended test on BOTH of your hard drives.

Also, have you run the video tests?  Please run both the Furmark and the Other Video tests

Depending on the direction that we take, there can be several different things to try.

The motherboard doesn't support W10 - so the possibility of a compatibility problem exists. ( https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M4A785TDV_EVO/HelpDesk_Download/ )
In order to rule out compatibility issues, you'll have to try the original OS to see if the problems recur with that.

The latest BIOS for your system is v2105 - which dates from 2010.  This causes me to wonder about compatibility issues.

As for hardware problems, if the system passed ALL of the hardware diagnostics, then I suggest this procedure to help identify the faulty component:  http://www.carrona.org/strpdown.html

Hello.

I tried the Seagate and Furmark and they both passed. I also noticed that after the system crashes/freezes, the mouse or keyboard stop working making me have to replug it in.

Could this be a problem with the usb in my motherboard? If so, how can i fix it?

I can't install windows 7 as of now.

As stated in my signature, I have some serious eye problems.

I have asked you to complete the hardware diagnostics and let us know the results at least twice.

As such, I can't continue to review your posts and then restate my original recommendations.

I would suggest that you start another topic as I choose not to reply to this one.
