Hi all!

Today I was sat in a Starbucks using their free public wifi. I booted up my Macbook Air (an old 2011 one) running Yosemite and started Chrome to use Facebook.

I tried to send my friend a message ("im ready") but instead the computer started typing "iiimimimi mi mi mri mri mrie mriae mriae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mridae mrWHT". Okay I understand that this closely resembles "i am ready" but it continued to type this even after my hands left the keyboard until i attempted to type "WHAT" which came out as the "WHT" at the end.

I checked my copy and paste and what I had copied before definitely looked different to this.

I didn't think much of it so I continued onto Skype to chat with a friend for around 20 minutes.

Afterwards, I realised that it was a bit sketchy so I decided to disconnect from wifi. I checked and found that my firewall had been off the whole time. The only thing I had was Sophos Anti-virus (not even Sophos firewall). I got very paranoid at that point!

I have since run a Sophos anti-virus scan, as well as Bitdefender full scan (which I really should've had installed earlier given that I had a subscription), on my laptop but I am most freaked about whether or not someone had been able to look and copy files in my computer!

What do you guys think? Could this have been a hack? Is there any way of finding out? I am generally very paranoid so if there IS a way of finding it I would really appreciate learning how.

Thanks!
