Can anyone save my laptop...? When I power on, the monitor display suddenly goes blank. If I look deep, I can see the screen and the computer is runnning. I have tried the following:
- start with a/c power but no battery and vice-versa.
- Change all the power / display settings in the control panel
- Waded through System BIOS set up but didn't find anything useful.

Sometimes, when I power on, it works fine just like now...but I never know when the display will go blank.

Any advice is sincerely appreciated.

Sounds like the backlight has gone bad. You may need to take that to a repair shop.
