PC crashed whilst shutting down with 'Memory management' blue screen, no big deal seen it before and is always fine after a restart.

This time after the ASUS screen this appears with a flashing cursor and is stuck...any ideas? Not come across anything like this before.

I've removed the RAM/put it back in/changed battery, still boots to the same.

Can get to boot mode and recovery, not sure about a re-install that keeps personal data as I have some files stored in the application folders in Program Files so I would guess they would be removed and the only files it would leave would be those in Documents/Users.

Slave the hard drive to another computer and see if you can backup the data that way.

Then start with these free, bootable diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Please run ALL of the tests and let us know the results - we'll move on from there.

FYI - if this is a UEFI based system, please post back for some alternative tests.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
