Just got a laptop. It loaded windows ok the first time. Started it up on day 2, and windows wanted to update. Let it update. After it updated for hours, its now just sitting at "we couldnt complete the updates. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your PC."

Tried to system restore. Won't restore. Tried to reset the PC fully, and it fails to reset. What do I do? I can't get it to do anything at all.

Hi, LuvTheSnapper,

If you can enter the recovery environment, please enter the following command from the Command Prompt:

dism.exe /image:Z:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
where Z is replaced by the drive or partition that Windows is installed on.

Regards,

bwv848

It says the /image option points to a running Windows installation. To service the running OS, use the /online option? Shouldn't it have been done installing after 8 hours?

Is it possible you upload the DISM log file, as listed on the screen? (Insert a USB, copy/paste the file to the USB, and send to me.)

Yes but I'll have to post back tomorrow. I don't have access to another PC with a USB.
