My specs are:

Model: Acer Aspire VX15 (Laptop)

Exact Model: VX5-591g
CPU: i7-7700 2.8 ghz
GPU: GTX 1050Ti
Ram: 16 GB
Storage: 256 GB SSD

Original OS: Windows 10 Home x64

Has reinstalled to Windows 10 Pro x64 when BSODs started

I received this laptop last Saturday (3/18) and everything ran fine until Monday, when the BSODs started happening. It was mainly [driver_state_power_failure] and [video dxgkrnl_fatal error] that seemed to be caused by [notoskrnl.exe] and [watchdog.sys]. I reinstalled the OS and it seemed to fix the problem until today, when they started again. However the BSODs only occur if I try to use the computer immediately after boot. If I were to leave it there for a couple of minutes then start using it, everything seems fine. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, Tcai,

Please reinstall your graphics drivers with a reboot in between each install. Since this is a laptop, we need to get your graphics drivers directly from Acer's website as they are specially tweaked. Also, the Intel graphics card and the NVIDIA graphics card rely on each other, in case you were wondering. :)

Hey sorry for the late response. Should I still reinstall even if they are an older version than the ones I have installed currently?

I don't know if I screwed up, but because this is the computer I use for school, I had to finish a bunch of work today using programs that could only be installed in this particular laptop, so I reinstalled Win10 again so I could complete my school work. 10 hours of work and everything seems fine, but I know it'll get worse once I start playing games or doing something CPU or GPU intensive.

I really hope that didn't screw up the process. I just had to get work done, but it kept blue screening at both start up then when I would try to shut it off. Nothing was getting done so I took drastic measures :(

I just don't want any work you might have put into this case to go to waste because of me.

No problem at all. :) If it blue screens again, please run the Sysnative File Collection App again. :)

So far everything is running smoothly, all thanks to you. Just a question though, will I ever be able to update my Nvidia drivers or will that just BSOD my system?

Sorry, but what did you do that I instructed you to do? A little confused.

I did. I installed the two video drivers that you listed. But Nvidia keeps reminding me that there are updates available for my current driver.
