I was told by a member here to use only one AV in one machine. So I have to remove one for good. Which one I should uninstall? Avira or Avast?

My few observations so far

1 Avira is way ahead of Avast detecting viruses in real time. But I wonder whether Avira disables Avast here.

2. Avira is a resource hog but Avast is a better contender here. It takes less time to scan files.

That is no longer a concern for those using the version of Windows Defender with Limited Periodic Scanning in Windows 10 Anniversary update...it is intended to offer an additional line of defense to your existing anti-virus programs real-time protection. Windows 10 will use the Windows Defender scanning engine to periodically scan your computer (or allow you to schedule scans) for threats and remove them.

avast! Free Antivirus has been becoming more of a disappointment for the past several years and I no longer recommend it.Further, avast! pushes a support package for $180 offered by a third party which prefers to take remote control of your computer in order to fix problems.

Avira and Avast both work on XP. Which AV I should stick with? is it Avira or Avast or should I go ahead and uninstall both and install. Panda instead?

It's more of my personal preference based on good reports from various users.
