CD/DVD will not eject unless disc in drive.

Another cd/DVD in same computer will open only by paper clip insertion.

Most likely the drive belt is worn or slipping. Take the drive apart and clean the belt in warm soap and water. I had this same problem and after cleaning the belt the problem was solved. Look at youtube videos for taking a optical drive apart if you have never done it.


Make sure you remove all power from the computer and touch bare metal of the case before removing the drive.

Replace the drive.
