Hello everyone,

i started to experience problems with my emails. I would click to open an email and it would open a new window showing the exact same page I was on. So I decided to do a "Full Scan" with Windows Defender and Windows Defender found: TrojanDownloader:JS/Nemucod.A    I then clicked to take the appropriate action or "Fix It", But the following Error message appeared: "Error code: 0x80070021 The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file."     I have 2 screen shots of the error message. I do not know how to add them.

So I do not know if the Trojan is eliminated or not.

My computer is a brand new self built computer and I have Windows 10 64bit operating system.

Can someone help me figure out if this Trojan is still on my computer and help me permanently get rid of it? Thank you.

p22002970.gif Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Windows Vista, 7 or 8 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • Do not reboot until instructed.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

NOTE Do NOT wrap your logs in "quote" or "code" brackets.
Do NOT use spoilers.
Do NOT edit your reply to post additional logs. Create new reply. I'll not get any email notifications about edits so I won't know you posted something new.

Alternate download: http://www.itxassociates.com/OT-Tools/TFC.exe
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

p22002970.gif Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
    Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
  • The tool will start to update the database if one is required.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • After the scan has finished, click on the Logfile button.
  • A window will open which lists the logs of your scans.
  • Click on the Scan tab.
  • Double-click the most recent scan which will be at the top of the list....the log will appear.
  • Review the results...see note below
  • After reviewing the log, click on the Clean button.
  • Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
  • Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
  • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[CX].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of X represents the most recent report).

Hello,

For some reason I am being blocked from accessing or even properly Downloading the Junkware Removal Tool.  I turned off Widows Defender ad all of a sudden I started getting Popups of some advertisement, I was unable to download or access the Junkware Removal Tool, and I was suddenly having problems with accessing this website and having a problem staying logged in on here.  I even tried searching for the tool  and then downloading it both from Malwarebytes and then again from here. But again No luck. I was prevented from doing so each and every time!!  I went back o Windows Defender and it had been switched back on! But I had switched it to OFF!!! So something had turned it back ON!!

Apparently the Trojan is still on my computer. How do  know,  I saw the file that it apparently came in, on one of the previous scans.  It is in a Zip file.

What should I do? Should I continue to try and download JRT again and continue with the steps as you mentioned above? Should I skip the JRT and just do the Sophos tool, Or what?

I think I found where that File is that the Trojan might have came in:

This PC / Local Disk (C:) / Users / Groff / OneDrive / Email attachments / PROVIDENCE RESOURCES - Order NUM. 0976218181727

There was also another file I saw the other day, but it is no longer there. It was the same as the above but with different digits after "Order NUM."   Only thing I can think of is it got deleted when I ran the Windows Defender Scan that picked up the Trojan.

Now the question is how do I get rid of it?

I am having More Problems now than I did before!!! I cannot access my Yahoo email account, When I am able to I keep getting Logged out, When I type over half the letters are missed and I have to go bak and retype them, When I am on a website it suddenly stops working and it has to reload and then I lose everything I was doing, and now I have to constantly log into every website I visit when before I did not have to!! This make me so Freaking Pissed off, that I am ready to destroy my new computer and start over!!!

Is the Trojan causing this or did something get deleted that the web-browser needs to function properly?

I have had to switch web-browsers. Because Microsoft Edge Web-browser in not functioning properly!  What is it doing? Every time I turn off/log off my computer I get logged out of all websites and email accounts, when I click on any email to open it or to go to a "linked" website in the email suddenly the website or email goes "unresponsive" and then I get logged out. Also Microsoft Edge is very slow loading and responding to keystrokes or even non-responsive.

Again I do not know if it is something I did  when trying to "eliminate" the Trojan or if it is the Trojan that is doing it.  :killcomp:

Just to eliminate some possibilities can you use some other browser to see if you have same issues?

Also, try to reset Edge: https://www.howtogeek.com/237527/how-to-reset-microsoft-edge-in-windows-10/

Just in case I uploaded JRT for you here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/se2km2

I am using Internet Explorer, I am still experiencing just a couple issues. Those issues that I am still experiencing are: when I go to scroll down or up on the screen; when I stop on the screen it keeps moving past the spot where I wanted to stop! My Facebook account; when I play "Criminal Case" and "Criminal Case: Pacific Bay" the game will suddenly stop/freeze and give me a black screen like adobe is not up to date. So I have to restart/Reload Facebook and re-enter the game and I will be redirected to the spot I was at.

So far they are the only problems I have encountered using Internet Explorer.  Also every webpage and account I have I have to reenter my log in information every time I go to those sites. But for the last couple times Internet Explorer has remembered the information.

I will try resetting Microsoft Edge and then try continuing where I had left off with Downloading JRT; running it and then downloading Sophos and running it. I will then post the logs and any results of what I experience/encounter.

Well, I tried Resetting Edge but I keep getting: "Some data could not be cleared. Please try again."  No matter how many times I click "Clear".  So I tried using the command prompt and nothing was found.

I will now try to continue to download JRT and Sophos using Internet Explorer instead of Microsoft Edge. I will then post the logs of the scans.

I am experiencing the problems with Microsoft Edge, so I am using Internet Explorer, but I experienced a couple issues while using Internet Explorer. The Issues I am experiencing with Internet Explorer remind me of when my Adobe or Java was Not up to date and I experienced some minor video problems when playing games on Facebook. The Page would go Blank and Freeze up and I would have to reload it. That is what I am experiencing when using Internet Explorer.

But Microsoft Edge is practically unusable. It will work okay for a few minutes and then just freeze completely. I might be able to scroll the page, but I cannot close the page, tab, close the windows or even close the program! The only way to close Microsoft Edge is to Restart my Computer!!

Here is the JRT log:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) by Malwarebytes
Version: 8.1.2 (03.10.2017)
Operating System: Windows 10 Home x64
Ran by Groff (Administrator) on Sun 03/19/2017 at 23:55:49.14
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

File System: 0

Registry: 0

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scan was completed on Sun 03/19/2017 at 23:57:44.16
End of JRT log
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Sophos scan did NOT pick up anything.

I could not copy and paste the log using Internet Explorer and with Microsoft Edge being practically unusable, I have decided to use Firefox for now..

I have a question: When I went to turn off Windows Defender it tells me "Real Time Protection: Handled by another AV program."  Which Of the programs that I previously downloaded to scan my computer would be doing this?

Most likely MBAM, which at current version is a full AV program.
